Cricket Legend Rahul Dravid is all set to get into the shoes as a coach for the talented Indian cricket team after Ravi Shastri steps down. Ravi Shastri has been the coach for the Indian team for 4 years now.
A BCCI official stated to PTI that Rahul has agreed to coach Team Indian till the 2023 World Cup. He also added that Dravid was hesitant to accept the role but after a meeting with the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah, he agreed to accept the role.
Previously, reports came that he will be an interim coach but the official said that it is not true and Dravid will be a full-time coach.
The bowling coach will be Dravid’s trusted player Paras Mhambrey and the batting coach will be Vikram Rathour.
The idea behind having Dravid and Mhambrey together was to ensure that the Indian team is smoothly coached for the next 2 years. A lot of players on the team may phase-out, the official said so when the big transition happens, it doesn’t affect the team.
