According to reports, Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are interested in the IPL 2022 bid.
According to a report in Outlook, Deepika and Ranveer’s names have surfaced as they may own an IPL team in partnership with Manchester United.
The winning bids can be between $375 to $425 million per team for a 10-year licence. BCCI will end up making 3000 to 3500 crores per team.
A top official involved with the auction said the Adani Group and the R-P Sanjeev Goenka Groups are not the favourites of IPL that they will walk with new teams and that there are serious bidders on the line who want to spend money on IPL 2022 teams.
BCCI will release the Tender invite in Dubai on October 25 and the same day, two new IPL teams will be announced.
According to sources from Outlook reports, BCCI is not keen to give away rights to offshore companies like Manchester United and Indian buyers but power balances may change the scenario completely.
