A woman panel to probe seven rape cases filed by a single woman in Haryana State

Preeti Bhardwaj Dalal acting chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for women has written to Haryana Director General of Police PK Agarwal on Tuesday to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate further and probe allegations of “fake rape cases” filed by a single woman over a single year.
Dalal stated that the case was filed by the woman were on seven men and at seven different police stations across the Gurugram district of Haryana. She further reported that the SIT would be led by a female and a male officer, although three other officers will also be added to the team. The SIT will be investigating with a fine comb as that probably the cases seems to give a vibe of Feminine Fatale honey trapping and extortion.
The case was lime lighted after the accused woman filed the 7th case and during which period filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj filed a complaint that the accused, by blackmailing to lodge a rape case, had married a 24-year-old man. The Women’s Panel noticed this as already two cases of the seven cases were repeatedly said to be false by the Haryana police.
The accused modus operandi had been to blackmail men with lodging a rape case; otherwise, to avoid any case, the men needed to marry her.
The Haryana police have booked the woman. Preeti Bhardwaj Dalal has opined that laws are like a double-edged sword. They are used to protect the innocent, but also sometimes they may be used by law, disregarders to throttle the liberty of personal opponents.
