Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to visit today to attend organisational meetings of the party. He is also supposed to begin a membership drive before UP’s assembly polls.
According to BJP headquarter statements, Shah will reach Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh airport at 10.30 am today and reach the Defense Expo Ground to start the membership drive.
He will also talk and address the office workers of the Awadh region and launch the BJP party’s LED vehicles campaign.
Later in the afternoon, he is scheduled to speak to the party workers at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan where former MPs, MLAs, in charge and convener of the Lok Sabha of 2019 elections will be present.
He will be visiting the UP’s BJP headquarters today to host a meeting with the office workers and senior leaders.
Previously, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and state BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh had instructed all party office workers to take the membership drive ahead during the region-wise meetings.
The Uttar Pradesh assembly polls will be held in February and March 2022 where 403 members will be elected for the legislative assembly.
The term of the current assembly of 2017 will expire on May 14, 2022.
In 2017, BJP was successful to win 312 seats. Samajwadi party secured 47 seats, Congress secured 7 seats.
