Bombay HC grants bail to Aryan Khan and two co-accused in Mumbai drugs case

The Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to Aryan Khan, 3 weeks after he was arrested in connection to a drug bust on a cruise ship on the Mumbai coast on October 3.

The bail was granted by a single bench of Justice NW Sambre. Along with Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were also granted bail.

Justice NW Sambre said that all three pleas are permitted and the detailed orders will be shared today.

However, they were not released from jail yesterday.

Opposing Aryan’s bail plea, NCB counsel ASG Anil Singh said in their defence that Aryan Khan is not a first-hand customer but a regular consumer of drugs for the last 2 years. He also added that he was found consciously possessing the drug and in such cases, he can be booked under the NDPS act.

Supporting all the above arguments, Singh said that Aryan’s arrest is not ‘illegal’ according to Aryan’s counsel.

Mukul Rohatgi argued that NCB didn’t bring any solid proof that indicated the 8 people who were arrested were working together.

Shah Rukh Khan Fans on the other hand celebrated this event in front of his residence in Mannat in full zest.
