Actor Surya was overwhelmed on Thursday while stating that his new project with Director Bala would be rolled out soon. Surya has given due credit to Bala for shaping his early career across a path that helped him with his current success. He states that Bala has always shown great confidence in him, which has inspired Surya to get an identity, and now after almost two decades, they both will be working together on the same project.
Bala had given Surya his first major acting break with the movie “Nandha”. In 2001, it was a crime drama that resulted in establishing Surya in the Tamil cinema industry.
They both worked again, giving the audience the film Pithmagan which Vikram also costarred.
Pithmagan, a 2003 film, had acted as a major milestone in Surya’s life, further establishing him in the Tamil film industry.
Bala’s last directed movie was Varmaa, a remake of a Telugu movie that starred Arjun Reddy.
However, the producers were not so inspired by the version made by Director Bala. Hence it was shelved and not released by the producers, and later the producers made the same movie through a different director.
The entire movie cast, except for Dhruv, was changed.
Surya, on the other hand, is shooting with another director too. A movie starring Surya “Etharkkum Thunindhavan” is written and will be given direction by director Pandiraj.
Film Vaadi Vaasal, with direction from director Vetri Maaran, is also to be out released soon.
In 2005, Bala had also financed Surya starred movie Maayavi. The upcoming new project will be their fourth one together.
