Robert Downey Jr and Matt Damon to join the upcoming movie Oppenheimer

The cast of the upcoming film “Oppenheimer” under the direction of Christopher Nolan just got bigger as Hollywood superstars Robert Downey Jr and Matt Damon have joined the project.

It was previously announced that the two actors Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt will be also cast members.

Oppenheimer is based on the life of Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is also remembered as one of the fathers of the atom bomb, this movie is a Universal Pictures project.

Oppenheimer will be the first movie in which both the actors; Robert Downey Jr who has worked in many Marvel Cinematic Universe projects along with Oscar winner Matt Damon will work with Director Christopher Nolan.

The details of their roles in the movie have not been disclosed publically yet.

Cillian Murphy will play the role of J Robert Oppenheimer and the role of his wife Katherine will be played by the actress Emily Blunt.

Christopher Nolan, the director of the film has previously worked with Cillian Murphy in three movies namely Batman Begins, Inception, and Dunkirk.

The movie is based on the American book “Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer” by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin, the book has won Pulitzer Prize.

The movie is being written and directed by Christopher Nolan, along with his wife Emma Thomas who is producing the movie with Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment.

The movie is set to be released in theatres on 21 July 2023.
