According to the Hindi calendar, it is the 6th day of the lunar month of Karthika.

The rituals have bathed in the water, fasting, standing in the water and offering Prasad. These rituals are performed during sunrise and sunset. Some devotees also march in Chatt Puja as they head for the river banks. Due to COVID 19 last year many people avoided going to the river banks together. Instead, they performed all the rituals in small artificial tubs and pools where there was minimum contact required. Such festivals in India also pollute rivers, hence it is an effective idea to perform them right at home without polluting the rivers and at the same time keeping your faith.

So if you are from Bihar, UP, Delhi or Jharkhand, make sure to keep a track on the Chatt holidays so that you don’t have to experience any sort of hassle.
