Mehbooba Mufti was protesting and demanding to hand over the bodies of the civilians who were killed by security forces. The former J&K chief minister said that AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) is now in place and there is no one accountable for the killing of the innocents.
Along with party activists, Mufti staged a protest against the killings outside PDP’s party headquarters in Gandhi Nagar, she was seen holding a placard that demanded the authorities hand over the bodies and stop the killings.
During the protest, Mufti said that the families of the deceased civilians were holding protests in Srinagar demanding to hand over the bodies. This protest came to light after 4 people (two civilians) were shot in a gunfight by security forces on Monday evening during an anti-terror operation. This encounter happened on November 15 in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar. The police received input that there were terrorists in an illegal call centre in a private building. The two terrorists were identified as Haider and Amir Ahmad. Haider was a foreign Pakistani terrorist and Amir Ahmad is a Banihal resident. They were killed in the encounter.
The PDP chief said that the government is being brutal by not handing over the bodies and turning the nation of Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar into a country of Godse.
