Police cases analysis to be developed into a learning Mechanism in a proper institutionalized plan under the Union Home Minister as Stated by PM Modi
On Sunday, PM Narendra Modi, while addressing the 56th session of a valedictory conference attended by DGP’s & IGP’s in Lucknow, suggested the setting of a highly powered & technologically advanced police minister headed by the Union Home Minister.
The main aim was to identify, adopt & involve better future technologies for police training requirements right from the grassroots level of training conducted for the police force, aiding them to increase their performance potential.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi further stressed that all police-related cases should be appropriately analyzed & categorically converted into a learning mechanism for new trainees in a properly institutionalized manner.
The PM added that in the lives of the general public, the importance of technology could not be ruled out, citing examples of CoWIN – the COVID- 19 vaccination online platform, UPI – real-time payment instantly & lastly he also cited an example of GeM- which is the e-marketplace by the government.
Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the meet also appreciated the role played by the new hybridized format of conference holding, which has led to an open flow of communication between all ranks of police, hence is responsible for many a quick & right decision taken at the right time to mete out any police-related situations.
Prime Minister Modi also suggested that a technology that is inter-operational, accessible to the multitude of police personnel across the country at a particular period will prove dynamic in resolving a number of internal security issues which otherwise might threaten the peace & integrity of our nation.
PM Modi said that he was very pleased to observe reports from a number of states in the country appreciating the change of police attitude towards the general public in the post-COVID-19 Period.
He pointed that SMART policing is the need of the day, this concept in the police force was introduced in the year 2014 & reviewing it for betterment should be a priority; also more use of high powered drones would be more beneficial for the security of the general public itself the PM stressed.
The PM also said to handle routine technological issues faced by the police, youngsters who can look for solutions via hackathons can be involved.
Ending the meet, the PM awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service to Intelligence Bureau personnel; Union Home Minister Amit Shah had inaugurated the conference on Friday.
Minister Amit Shah gave away police awards to the three best police stations named across the country.
