The airport is one of the promises made by the BJP government who are aiming to come back in power in next year’s assembly elections. UP CM Yogi Adiyanath announced that the airport will be completed by 2024 i.e. before the next General Elections.

The airport is going to be spread over 1300 hectares of land that can serve over 1.2 crore passengers every year. The central government said that this airport will be a game-changer for the state. The airport will make the commute easier for people living in East Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and nearby UP districts. With the massive 1 crore capacity of the airport, it will also boost tourism in Agra and Mathura.

The estimated cost to build the airport is Rs 29,560 crore and Noida is expecting investments worth Rs 35,000 crore to Uttar Pradesh. The Noida International Airport may create more than 1 lakh job opportunities in the area and the first phase of the airport will be able to handle around 12 million passengers. It will take around 21 minutes for Delhiites to reach the airport once the proposed Delhi – Varanasi high–speed rail construction is finished. This rail line will have a stop at the Noida airport.
