Hours after Haryana CM Manohar Lal met PM Narendra Modi in Delhi on Friday, he said that it will not be possible to draft a new law for MSP (Minimum Support Price) to farmers as it will lead to a lot of pressure for the government to buy produce from farmers that no one else can. When he was asked about the demands of the farmers to normalize MSP, the CM stated that till now no discussion has been held regarding this. He stated that if a law is made on MSP, and the product is not sold then the government have to buy it all.
He further added that the government doesn’t require so much produce and a system to regulate this is not possible. The government will buy as per their needs.
