After Airtel and Vi, Reliance Jio hikes prepaid tariffs: Here are new recharge plans

All telecom companies are raising their prepaid plans one after the other. Airtel announced their hike, followed by VI (Vodafone Idea) and now Jio. The new plans will be activated from December 1, so customers still have a chance to recharge their plans with older charges.

Jio stated that the new plans were introduced to ‘ensure a sustainable telecom industry’. The most affordable plan of Jio that lasts 28 days will cost Rs 155 that was Rs 129 before. The 1GB (24days) plan is raised from Rs 149 to Rs 179. The Rs 200 unlimited data plan will now cost Rs 229 for 28 days and 1.5 GB/day.

Jio has also hiked the price of the Rs 249 plan to Rs 299 that offers 2GB of data and 100 SMS (unlimited voice calls. Take a look at the new prices of the prepaid plans.

Along with short-duration plans, Jio has increased its long duration plans as well. The popular 84-day plan starting from Rs 329 will be Rs 395 and give 6GB in total will the Rs 555 plan will be Rs 666 with a validity of 84 days and 1.5 GB/per day. The Rs 599 plan will now cost Rs 719 for 2GB daily data with 84 days validity.

The higher plans of Jio like the Rs 1,299 plan is raised to Rs 1,559 which includes 24 GB of data in total and 3,600 SMS. The Rs 2,399 Jio plan is raised to Rs 2,879 with 2GB daily data and 100 SMS/day. The add on plan prices are also increased. The Rs 51 add on is now Rs 61, the Rs 101 add on is Rs 121. A new add on plan of Rs 250 is introduced that will give users 50GB of data that will be valid for 30 days.

For JioPhone users, the recharge of Rs 75 will be Rs 91. The plan includes 50 SMS, unlimited voice calls and 3GB of total data.

The previous notion of the high-paid phone plans era is seeing a comeback as Jio – which is one of the cheapest telecom companies are raising their prepaid plan prices.
