Bank Holiday Alert: Banks to Remain Shut For Total 12 Days in December | Check Full List Here

The festive season seems to die down as the Shaadi season is getting started but the festivals in India hasn’t finished yet. December is here and if you are planning some bank work, then make sure to check this list of holidays to avoid any hassle. This list is shared by RBI that is followed by all public and private banks. In December, it will remain closed for up to 12 days around the country. For Christmas and New Year this month, there will be around 7 holidays apart from Saturdays and Sundays.

The bank holidays stated by the RBI will differ from state to state. The holidays are listed under Holiday Under Negotiable Instruments Act, Banks’ closing of accounts and Real-Time Gross Settlement holiday. This year Christmas holiday is overlapping with the 4th Saturday of December. Even though the banks will be closed physically for any transactions and other functions, customers can always do online banking which is open 24×7.

The banks will be closed on December 3 in Goa for the Feast of St Francis Xavier. The banks in Meghalaya will be closed on December 18 for the death anniversary of You So So Tham.

These holidays depends on one state to other. Goa will have more bank holidays because of its dominant Christian community and Christmas is lined up this month. The scheduled holidays of Saturdays and Sundays will be as per the schedule given by the RBI.
