One Lucky Draw Winner To Get A Smartphone Worth Rs 60,000 After Being Fully Vaccinated

In an attempt to boost the Covid vaccination drive, a lucky draw scheme has been launched by the Ahemdabad civic body. A smartphone worth Rs 60,000 will be won by the winner of this lucky draw if the person is fully vaccinated.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said that people getting a second dose of the vaccine between 1 December to 7 December would be eligible for the scheme, and through a lucky draw, the winner would be announced.

In order to achieve the target of 100 per cent of vaccinated people, the city’s civic body has come up with several schemes from time to time to lure people eligible for vaccination to take their second dose.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Health Department said that vaccine doses had been received by 78.7 lakh people in the city so far. Out of which 31.0 lakh people have taken both the vaccine doses and 47.7 lakh people have taken their first dose of vaccine.

People who have not taken even a single vaccine dose along with those who are due for the second vaccine dose will not be allowed to enter public places such as museums, zoos, and gardens along with private residential and commercial areas, further said the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

The civic body with effect from Wednesday has prohibited the entering of people with no vaccine doses or single vaccine doses into hospitals and urban/community health centres run by it, said the civic body.

At the entrances of all the hospitals and health centres, points have been set up by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to check the status of the vaccination of visitors.

The civic body said if any visitor is due for the covid-19 vaccine dose except the patients would be given vaccine shot at the health centre itself. They would only be allowed to enter the premises after being vaccinated.

It was further added that even patients who are due on their vaccination would be counselled to take the vaccine dose after they recover from whatever they are suffering from as of now. The vaccination status would be recorded and updated in their medical case papers.
