All Global Passengers To The USA To Possess A Day Earlier Negative Covid Report Preceding Flights For US
The U.S.A. has made it necessary for all incoming passengers, also including travellers from India, to possess a negative report of the COVID-19 test or any evidence supporting recovery from the contagion amidst a threat of new Omicron variant infection.
A sub-division of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), CDC has categorically stated in accordance with the new advisory system, which will begin from the 6th of December that “This correction updates COVID-19 testing conditions for air passengers over 2 years or above taking a flight to the USA,” the Indian-American community leaders were informed about the same by Indian government officers on Saturday.
The new official order states categorically that all flights to the US from any foreign country after 12:O1 AM EST, 10:31 AM IST, or 5:01 AM GMT on the 6th of December, 2021, will be boarded by passengers who have to possess a mandatory negative covid-19 viral report resulting from a test that has been undergone not more than one day earlier.
Before passengers board their flight, attestation of a negative SARS-CoV-2 viral test result from a sample collected only one day earlier to the flight date of the passenger’s flight to the United States or attestation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days.
All passengers will have to submit written self-attested documentation stating their submitted information to be true as per official reports.
The one day is defined as one day earlier to the flight’s departure.
The order uses a 1- day time frame rather than 24 hours to give further time-oriented flexibility to the air passenger and to the airlines operating that particular flight to the United States.
The official released notice states that using a 1- day window does not force the timing of the flight to be precisely 24 hrs different than the timing of the results arrived at.
New York City authorities have detected another three cases of the omicron variant, bringing the total number of the state’s cases to eight; earlier, seven of the new variant cases have been located in New York City too.
State Health Commissioner Mary Bassett has stated that the community spread of Omicron is already anticipated by their department.
Massachusetts and Washington blazoned their first cases on Saturday, a day after similar first cases were declared by positive reports from New Jersey, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
