Harnaaz Sandhu from India won the Miss Universe 2021 crown on December 13, 2021 Monday (IST) at Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. With this Harnaaz will bring home the Miss Universe crown after 21 years. Before her, Lara Dutta won the Miss Universe crown in 2000.

The official social media handle posted the exact moment Harnaaz has crowned the title at Israel. The video clip shows Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico crowning an overwhelmed and emotional Harnaaz, her successor.
Harnaaz Sandhu won the 70th Miss Universe title on December 12 after competing with some 80 contestants in the beauty pageant. She beat 79 other contestants participating from different countries. The runner up was Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira and 2nd runner up was Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane.

The 21-year-old model from Chandigarh finished her schooling and college in the city. She has been in the modelling industry for quite a while now and has won several pageant titles. She has starred in Punjabi films like Bai Ji Kuttange and Yaara Diyan Poo Baran. She won the first pageant title in ‘Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017’, ‘Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018’ and ‘Femina Miss India Punjab 2019.’ She is currently pursuing her master’s in public administration.
She expressed her gratitude towards her family, god and Miss India Organization for supporting her in this journey. The final question that was asked to her at the Miss Universe 2021 beauty pageant was about what advice she would give to young women who are facing peer pressure today.
