Did you know? Well, Jio silently introduced this affordable plan. It is now the cheapest prepaid recharge plan in the country provided by any network provider to date. It costs Rs 1 and is valid for 30 days. It is a great plan for users who don’t use their phones a lot but yet need to have an active number. Also, this recharge plan is currently visible in the MyJio app but not on the website. Jio has also updated its Rs 119 prepaid plan making it the most affordable plan with its unlimited benefits.
First reported by Telecom Talk, the Rs 1 prepaid plan includes 100MB of data and once they use up that data, they can run the internet at 64kbps. You can find this new plan under the ‘value’ section of ‘other plans’ in the MyJio app. They further stated that recharging this plan 10 times, will give users around 1GB of high speed which is still cheaper than the 1GB data plan that costs Rs 15 per month.
Currently, no other network provider in the country has offered such a cheap prepaid recharge plan that costs like the price of a candy. This will be a great plan for people who don’t want more than the required data. However, there is no confirmation yet that how many users can use this plan currently.
Previously this week, Jio updated its Rs 119 prepaid plan that includes 300 SMS along with 1.5GB 4G data/ per day and unlimited voice calls. It is a revised plan of Rs 98 that had the same benefits. However, this Rs 119 plan has a validity of 14 days, and the previous plan had a validity of 28 days.
Recently Jio has increased their prepaid plan charges after Vodafone-Idea and Airtel. The rise in prices brings back the times of the late 2010s when telecom prices were a matter of concern. However compared to that era, the prices are still low.
