Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom company, gained 17.6 lakh mobile connections in October 2021, according to data issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea both lost 14.5 lakh users. In October, Vodafone Idea lost 9.64 lakh customers, while Bharti Airtel lost 4.89 lakh.
According to figures from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Reliance (TRAI) Jio’s mobile customer base increased to 42.65 crores in October, with the telecom gaining 17.61 lakh new mobile users this month. Subscriptions increased in October after Jio lost 1.90 crore customers in September, according to data from the previous month.
Bharti Airtel, the second-largest telecom provider, lost 4.89 lakh mobile users in October, bringing its subscriber count to 35.39 crores, according to TRAI’s monthly subscription figures issued on Monday. Airtel attracted 2.74 lakh new mobile users in September.
Vodafone Idea lost 9.64 lakh mobile customers in October, bringing its overall user base to 26.90 crores, according to the most current numbers.
However, VIL’s subscriber losses in September were more prominent, at 10.77 lakh people.
At the end of October 2021, India’s total number of telephone users had risen to 1,189.62 million (118.96 crores), representing a monthly growth rate of 0.04 per cent.
According to the TRAI, the number of urban telephone customers declined to 658.83 million (65.88 crores) at the end of October 2021, while rural subscriptions climbed to 530.79 million (53.07 crores).
According to TRAI’s monthly report, “India’s overall tele-density decreased from 86.89% at the end of September-21 to 86.86% at the end of October-21.”
By the end of October 2021, the total number of broadband customers had risen to 798.95 million (79.8 crores).
According to the research, Reliance Jio Infocom (426.60 million), Bharti Airtel (204.73 million), Vodafone Idea (122.47 million), BSNL (19.85 million), and Tikona Infinet were the top five wireless broadband service providers as of October 31, 2021. (0.30 million).

Jio has quietly announced the launch of a new prepaid recharge package. The package is also the country’s lowest prepaid recharge plan. It costs Re. 1 and formerly had a 30-day validity; however, it will now have a one-day validity. It was formerly available with 100MB of data for a limited time, but is currently only available with 10MB. Users who do not want to buy more data than they need may like Jio’s Re. 1 recharge plan.
