Important news for CBSE & CISCE students: Results expected next week: Know major things about the evaluation process
Important news for all CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations) students may get their term 1 results by next week. Some reports suggest that the CBSE Class 10 & 12 results will be out by January 15. Once they are announced, the board will conduct term 2 exams. Notably, the CBSE and CISCE will not announce the pass/fail status of the students for the term 1 examination.
The CBSE also said earlier that they won’t announce if a student passed or failed or will repeat. The final CBSE result will be published after the 2 term exams are over. After the results are released, the scorecards will be available for download at cbse.gov.in or cbseresults.nic.in.
CISCE Marksheet Notification
Meanwhile, the CISCE said that the ICSE, ISC exams that were held will get a computer-generated mark-sheet and it will only contain the marks obtained by the students in each paper or subject for the Semester 1 exam. They also added that the overall result, pass certificate awarded or pass certificate not awarded/ eligible for compartment will only be declared after the completion of the Semester 2 examination.
Supreme Court on CBSE policy
The SC struck down Clause 28 of the CBSE policy. The clause stated that the marks secured in the improvement exams will be considered as the final score of the assessment for Class 12 students for the previous academic year.
The SC bench said that the students want to retain their original marks as improvement marks may cause trouble while seeking admissions for higher education. The court also said that the students must be given an option to choose between ‘better of the two marks’ out of the two exams.
