The Gmail app for iOS is receiving a new widget, according to reports. The second Gmail home screen widget is claimed to show up to three emails from the inbox, as well as a write button for instantly composing a new message. The new widget joins Google’s existing iOS widget, which was released in November of last year.
The latter allows users to manage their inbox from their iPhone or iPad’s home screen. It has a compose button, a search feature, and an indicator of how many unread emails there are.
MacRumors noticed the arrival of a new Gmail widget for iOS. Screenshots of the new widget have also been posted by the source. Users will be able to see the content of their recent emails immediately on their smartphone’s home screen, thanks to the new widget.
As previously stated, the new widget is said to show the most recent three emails in the Gmail inbox, as well as a button to create a new email.
The new widget, according to the source, maybe put to the Today screen or the Home screen. To do so, unlock the phone and press and hold it anywhere on the screen. Then, on the upper left corner of the screen, hit the + icon and scroll down to Gmail.
Google released a new Gmail widget for iOS in November of last year. On the main screen, it displays the senders and subjects of the most recent emails.
In the year 2020, Google began offering a separate widget for the Gmail app for iOS. Since then, Google has added a slew of additional capabilities to the Gmail app for iOS.
