Main conspirator behind the Rohini court shootout: Rakesh Tajpuriya arrested

Police claimed on Wednesday that the primary conspirator in the gunfight at Rohini Court, in which gangster Jitender Gogi was murdered, had been apprehended following a brief exchange of fire from north Delhi’s Narela Industrial area.

They identified the culprit as Rakesh Tajpuriya aged 31, an Alipur resident and Tillu gang associate.

Rakesh, according to authorities, is one of the Tillu gang’s most active members and sharpshooters. He was holding a 50,000 reward.

According to authorities, a semi-automatic pistol with three live cartridges and three empty shells was seized from the scene.

They said Rakesh was the primary conspirator behind the assassination of his gang’s competitor Jitender alias Gogi on the orders of Sunil Tillu from jail.

According to police, they received a tip on Tuesday that Rakesh would be at Xing Chemical Factory Road, Narela Industrial Area, about 10 PM to meet his partner.

According to the police, Rakesh was involved in more than 12 criminal cases in Delhi and Haryana over the previous ten years, including murder, attempted murder, and extortion.

Rakesh was wanted in the most notorious case of a wide day shootout in Rohini Court on September 24, 2021, which resulted in the death of Jitender Gogi.

According to the DCP, Gogi was killed down by two thugs from the Sunil Tillu gang who had entered the court complex dressed as attorneys.

Rakesh organised both the shooters and the weapons used in the shootout on Sunil Tillu’s orders, and he waited outside the court during the incident, according to police.

Rakesh and his colleagues killed Sonu Kanda, Kulbir Mathur, and Nitesh, all members of the Gogi gang, in 2020 and 2021, according to officials.
