How to turn off automatic updates in Windows 10?

Windows Update – this might come like a nightmare for you just like it happens to most of us. You are working and then suddenly your laptop asks you to restart and then it takes forever to restart. It’s not just that, Windows Update makes your laptop/computer slower each time it downloads a new update.

Sometimes, updates contain bugs that make the PC slow and instead of fixing problems it further worsens them. However, with a few easy steps, you can pause/stop automatic updates in Windows 10. Most of the time it restarts itself again so you have to do it again and again in a few days.

Pause Updates

Open the Settings app and click on Windows update.

Click on Windows Update and then you will see an option for Pause updates for 7 days, you can choose to pause updates for 35 days. After you choose the number of days, you will see a date when the updates will begin next.

Another way to disable windows updates time and again is using the services option. Search services in the search box or Run.

Click on the application to open it. You will see a list of services that are running on the computer.

Right- Click on the Windows Update option and select properties, a dialogue box will open. The default option is Manual or Automatic, all you have to do is select disabled from the drop-down menu and then click on Apply.

Use Windows Update Blocker

You can use Windows Update Blocker if you think all the above methods are difficult to implement. You can download the software online. After you download it you can simply click on Disable updates and choose Apply Now.
