Veteran playback singer Lata Mangeshkar has finally recovered from COVID 19 and pneumonia, said Dr Pratik Samdhani who is the leading doctor looking after her. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Sunday confirmed her status first.
Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the ICU of Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai at the beginning of January month when she contracted to COVID 19. Dr Samdhani said that she is still in the ICU but the ventilator has been removed.
Earlier on Sunday, Rajesh Tope said, “I spoke with Dr Pratit Samdani who is treating singer Lata Mangeshkar. She’s recovering, was on a ventilator for some days, but is better now. She is no more on ventilator. Only oxygen is being given to her. She is responding to the treatment.”
On a positive note, her health team has been constantly updating the media with her condition to avoid any rumours.
She has been facing lung ailments 2 and a half years ago and was treated for them. She often used oxygen at home as well.
