BIG NEWS: Maharashtra relaxes COVID 19 protocols as cases drop, parks, spas, beaches, tourist places now open – Check details
After the cases started to drop in Maharashtra, the government relaxed its restrictions for districts that have vaccinated 90% of its population with at least one dose of COVID 19 vaccine and 70% of them fully vaccinated. Under these new guidelines, the tourist spots will finally be open for all at regular timings. The tourist spots include national parks, monuments and safaris.
Beaches, gardens and parks will also remain open at regular timings and spas will be allowed to operate at 50% capacity.
“All National Parks and Safaris to remain open as per regular timings with online ticketing in the State. All visitors shall be necessarily fully vaccinated. Controlling authorities of these activities should impose reasonable restrictions on the number of people to be allowed in such activities at any time, in view of COVID-19 pandemic,” the official directive said.

As per the notification shared by the CMO, 11 districts qualify the conditions including Mumbai and Pune. This list of districts will be updated every week based on the vaccine data. The COVID 19 cases dropped significantly in the state. On Monday, 15,140 new cases were reported with 39 deaths. With this, the active caseload has come to 2,07,350.
According to the guidelines, swimming pools, amusement parks, theme parks will stay open at 50% capacity. Other public places like restaurants, theatres can stay operational at 50% capacity as per the timings decided by the DDMA.
“Bhajans and all other local, cultural and folk entertainment programs to be allowed with 50% capacity of the hall/ pandal…Marriages may have guests up to 25% of the capacity of the open ground and banquet halls, or 200 whichever is lower,” the notification added
