BOLLYWOOD: Amitabh Bachchan’s Jhund to release on March 4

Big B is back with another movie for the big screen. He will be seen in the sports drama Jhund which is all set to release on March 4. Directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Raj Hiremath, Nagraj Manjule, Gargee Kulkarni, Meenu Aroraa this film will come under the banner of T-series, Tandav Films Entertainment and Aatpat.

The film has faced a lot of delays for over 2 years due to the COVID 19 pandemic. It was also restricted from an OTT release due to copyright issues. Jhund will be the directorial debut of Manjule, he is known for his blockbuster Marathi film Sairat and the 2013 critically acclaimed drama Fandry. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he said that he is struggling to release films on theatres and said that his crew came together to support him.

The plot of Jhund revolves around a professor who motivates young street children to build a football team giving them a purpose in life. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a Nagpur based Soccer founder, Vijay Barse in the movie.

Apart from this movie, Amitabh Bachchan will also be seen in Bramhastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Bramhastra is all set to release in September.

The copyright row happened in 2020. Hyderabad-based short-film maker Nandi Chinni Kumar had alleged copyright infringement against the filmmakers, who have refuted the allegation.
