Realme 9 Pro+ will include a heart-rate sensor, rumour says it will be reasonably priced

The Realme 9 Pro+ will be the company’s first smartphone to have a heart-rate sensor. The CEO of Realme India, Madhav Sheth, stated on Twitter that the next 9 Pro-series phones will feature an optical sensor on the screen to monitor user heart rate patterns.

Sheth confirmed the phone will support heart rate measurements captured through the phone into the Health part of the Realme Link app in a brief video uploaded on Twitter.

The Realme 9 Pro+ will be a budget-friendly flagship phone. This is a new category of smartphones with flagship-like capabilities at substantially lower prices. Realme has previously confirmed that the 9 Pro+ would be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 920 CPU and a flagship Sony sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) in the rear camera system.

While official information is scarce, leaks have left almost little to the imagination. According to rumours, the Realme 9 Pro+ would include a Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a fast refresh rate. The phone might include two 50-megapixel cameras on the back, with the selfie camera hidden behind a punch-hole in the display.

Separately, the Realme 9 Pro series’ pricing has been revealed. According to RMLeaks, the 9 Pro will be priced at Rs 16,999, while the 9 Pro+ will be priced at Rs 20,999. The base edition of the 9 Pro might feature 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but the 9 Pro+ will have 6GB of RAM.

The prices will be announced during the launch event by Realme. Realme has not officially announced a date, but a source recently stated that the phone’s European debut will take place on February 15, while the Indian launch, according to a rumour, will take place on February 16.
