Take A Break: Instagram Launches New Feature to ‘Help Users Reflect And Reset’. All You Need to Know
Youngsters nowadays start their day from Instagram and as soon as they get some spare time, they drop into the app to check out photos since reels were introduced – there is no end to people viewing them. So, as the platform continues to promote reels at their best, they are also bringing this new feature for users to take a break from the app.
“The wellbeing of young people is important to us, and we are focused on ensuring that the time spent on Instagram is intentional and people feel good about it,” Natasha Jog, Public Policy Manager, Instagram, Facebook India, said in a statement. “With this context, we have launched ‘Take a Break’, to meaningfully improve the experience on Instagram for young people, parents and guardians,” she added.
How does the feature work?
- In this feature, users will be reminded to take a break from the app and suggest setting reminders for the same. It will also show expert-backed tips to help them reflect and reset.
- To let the users know about this feature, it will be shown in notifications asking them to take a break.
- This feature will be present in the existing time management tools that have Daily Limit, where users can set the daily limit they want to spend on the app and as they reach the limit, they are notified. From here, users can mute notifications.
- This feature was first launched in the US, the UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Now it is available worldwide.
