Actor Pravin Kumar Sobti who played the role of Bheem in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat died at the age of 75 after suffering from a heart attack. Kumar’s daughter Nikunika stated to Indian Express, she said, “He passed away yesterday around 9.30 pm. He suffered a heart attack. He died at home in Delhi.

Apart from being Mahabharat’s Bheem, he was also a part of many movies like Amitabh Bachchan’s Shehenshah and Dharmendra’s Loha. Some other films that he was a part of was Aaj ka Arjun, Ajooba, Ghayal. He had worked in more than 50 movies and his last movie was ‘Mahabharat Aur Barbareek’, that released in 2013.
Before being an actor, he was a hammer and discus throw athlete. He had won 4 medals at the Asian Games. He had also represented India in 1968 Mexico and 1972 Munich Olympics. He was also honoured with Arjuna Award. Along with being a great athlete, he had also served the nation; he was the Deputy Commandant in the BSF (Border Security Force) as well.
He had also contested the Delhi Assembly elections on Aam Aadmi Party ticket in 2013.
