Bullying has been an important issue to address that is barely taken care of, especially in India. People talk about it a lot but how many of us actually do something about it. This 13-year-old from Gurugram took a big step against it, let’s see what is her story?
She bagged Rs 50 lakhs for her anti-bullying app on the popular Sony TV show ‘Shark Tank India’. Her name is Anoushka Jolly and she always wanted to do something about the constant bullying that happens in schools. She first thought about it after she saw a fellow student get bullied at a school event when she was 9 years old.
The ‘Anti Bullying Squad’ platform created by her with the help of educational institutions, social organisations and experts has positively bought a change in 2,000 lives from over 100 schools and universities. Anoushka said this in an interview.

She also came up with a mobile application called ‘Kavach’. This app allows students and parents to report incidents of bullying anonymously, allowing the schools and counsellors to handle the situation tactfully and take action.
The incident of the girl being bullied “got registered in my memory and I still cannot forget her face”, she was terrified and felt helpless, said Jolly, who was 9 years old then.
“I was attending the school annual day when my friends decided to bully the six-year-old girl who they found annoying. They walked up to her and started calling her names and laughed at her,” she said. “Soon, I realised how common the problem is and saw many other children of my age being victims of bullying and losing confidence,” she added. Anoushka was the youngest contestant in the show and she also bagged Rs 50 lakh from Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com Anupam Mittal and co-founder of boat Aman Gupta.
