Another factor that risks arthritis is obesity. Increased body weight leads to pressure on joints. According to a CATCH study, if a person is not obese, they have a decreased chance of getting RA. So, what eating habits you must adopt to avoid RA? Let’s take a look:

  • Natural diet: Various research and studies show that consuming lots of fruits, vegetables and healthy fats is a great choice for people who are suffering from RA and to avoid the disease.
  • Omega – 3 fatty acids that are present in fish, help control inflammation. However, various experts suggest consuming only fish in its natural form rather than fish supplements as they interfere with blood clotting and it can lead to many other complications.
  • Pease and beans are good sources of proteins that help in muscle building and are a rich source of antioxidants.
  • Walnuts and other nuts are also a great food source for RA patients as they are rich in Omega – 3 fatty acids.
  • Olive oil contains a compound known as Oleocanthal that reduces inflammation but you must consume it in limited quantity.

A healthy and balanced diet is a must if you don’t want this chronic disease anywhere when you grow old. This disease is one of the slow-burn deadly diseases that harm your bones slowly until they become weak or worse- twisted.
