IND V/S SL: India wins by 6 wickets against Sri Lanka in the final T20I match, Completes 3-0 Whitewash Against SL
Taking full advantage of the opportunities, Shreyas Iyer completed a clean sweep by beating Sri Lanka with 6 wickets in the 3rd and final T20 International series here on Sunday. Team India took home the 3rd title after winning the series with New Zealand, West Indies and now Sri Lanka.
147 was a pretty easy target for India. It was like a walk in the park for Shreyas as he swiftly made 73 runs off 45 balls to complete the target after Mohammad Siraj and Avesh Khana enjoyed a brilliant run in the previous overs.
With this exceptional performance, Shreyas Iyer became the Player of the Series and the spot for the same was taken by Suryakumar who was the Player of the Series against the West Indies before he suffered from a hairline fracture on his right hand. Shreyas Iyer’s performance spoke about how much practice and effort he had put in to pull off this score so easily.
It was a ‘Super Subs’ day out with India making four changes in the playing XI, including Ishan Kishan due to concussion.
Sri Lanka on the other hand played tough with Captain Dasun Shanaka saving the game with 74 off 38 balls that took the team very close to the 150 mark. Shanaka hit 9 4s and 2 6s.
With major players of the team not a part of this series like Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Suryakumar, Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan getting injured, the team pulled off a great match against Sri Lanka.
