For Indians travelling from Ukraine, Centre provides several exceptions to the Covid-19 restrictions

Indians being evacuated from Ukraine have been excused from pre-boarding RT-PCR tests, as well as producing Covid vaccination certificates and uploading them to the Air Suvidha portal, according to the Health Ministry on Monday.

As per the statement, the International Travel Guidelines have been updated, and some humanitarian exemptions have been granted for persons travelling from Ukraine.

According to the administration, as of February 28, five aircraft carrying 1,156 Indians from Ukraine had arrived in the nation, and none of them had been isolated thus far. One of the five planes landed in Mumbai, while the others landed in Delhi.

The Health Ministry stated that Indians who do not meet either of the mandatory requirements outlined in the ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals’ – a pre-boarding negative RT-PCR test report or a fully vaccinated certificate – have been excluded from uploading these documents on the Air-Suvidha Portal prior to departure to India.

Individuals who have finished their Covid-19 vaccine, regardless of their place of origin/inoculation, have been permitted to leave the arrival airport in India with the suggestion to self-monitor their health for the following 14 days, according to the statement.

If a traveller is unable to submit a pre-arrival RT-PCR test or has not finished their Covid-19 immunisation, they may submit their samples upon arrival with the suggestion to self-monitor their health for 14 days following arrival.
