In the forthcoming film Jhund, Amitabh Bachchan will play coach Vijay Barse. The trailer was launched a few days ago, and fans have been ecstatic ever since. While Big B leads the film’s cast, the production had a low budget, thus the actor reduced his pay.
AMITABH BACHCHAN AND TEAM REDUCED JHUND FEES
In an interview recently with Mid-day, producer Sandeep Singh said that Big B volunteered to take a fee cut when the creators were suffering from the budget. He stated that Amitabh Bachchan, who is also a huge football enthusiast, was so initially taken with the script that he and his team took a salary reduction.
Mr Bachchan, he claimed, enjoyed the script. When they were constantly trying to figure out how to bring him on board given the film’s [small] budget, he surprised them by significantly lowering his cost.
Mr Bachchan stated that instead of spending money on himself, let us spend money on the film. Along with Mr Bachchan, his team also effectively reduced their pay.
However, the picture was still plagued by financial difficulties. Their troubles were eventually resolved when T-series heard the script and chose to fund the film.
THE JHUND TRAILER IMPRESSES US
On February 23, Amitabh Bachchan’s biographical sports drama trailer was released. In the three-and-one-second trailer, we meet Vijay Barse, a.k.a. Amitabh Bachchan. The film recounts the journey of a football coach as he attempts to start a revolution.
The trailer is reflective of Shah Rukh Khan’s 2007 film Chak De! India, in which he portrayed a hockey team coach.
In February 2019, the biographical sports drama was unveiled.
It was meant to be released in theatres on May 8, 2020, but it was delayed for months owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
