Central government employees are likely to hear some good news very soon by end of March. As per various media reports, the central government might announce a hike in DA (Dearness Allowance) by the end of this month. This will increase their overall pay to a great level.
More than 1 crore employees will be benefited from this hike. It is reported that the employees’ salaries will be increased by 3%. Thus the current dearness allowance of 31% will be hiked to 34%.
Calculating the percentage, employees will get a hike up to Rs 90,000. According to JCM Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra, the central employees must get the hike in proportion to inflation.
If the basic pay of the employee is Rs 30,000 per month, then his hike will be Rs 900 per month, annually they will get a hike of Rs 10,800. The higher posts of cabinet secretary-level officers will get hiked by Rs 7,500 per month which is annually around Rs 90,000.
This hike will be a great relief for government employees as the prices of commodities are on a new rise and not on a new low. With the current Russia-Ukraine crisis, prices of various services and products are likely to rise as the prices of crude oil is increasing day by day.
