According to WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is now working on the community Tab feature. The functionality was discovered in the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.6.9. While the functionality is not yet accessible, the feature tracker supplied a screenshot of the Community tab symbol. The new icon replaces the camera icon that was previously present.
As per reports, Community Tab is a shortcut for the upcoming “Community Home” feature. Communities are anticipated to be end-to-end encrypted private areas where group admins will have more control over their groups.
WhatsApp has yet to start testing the Community feature. When that happens, beta testers will be able to utilise it before it is fully rolled out.
