The debut of Google Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch reportedly delayed owing to a chip shortage

The Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch may not be available anytime soon. As per recent sources, the Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch will not be released on the previously announced date. The Google Pixel 6a’s release date has been pushed back owing to a processor shortage. It is scheduled to go live later this month. The Pixel Watch’s debut appears to have been hampered by a chip scarcity. According to rumours, the Pixel Watch’s release date has also been pushed back.

Noted leaker Jon Prosser, who is rarely incorrect regarding device and launch dates, has given some unique details about the Pixel 6a as well as the much-anticipated Pixel Watch, which was expected to be released in May.

Previous speculations suggested that Google might reveal the Pixel 6a at Google IO 2022, which is set to take place on May 26. The watch was also due to be released around the same period. Although Prosser did not reveal if chip shortages have also hampered the Pixel Watch’s debut, he did suggest that the watch’s release date may be postponed.

Pixel 6a: Specifications to be Expected

The Google Pixel 6a will be the Pixel 5a’s successor. It is, however, likely to be smaller than the Pixel 5a. The Pixel 6a will allegedly include a 6.2-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz/120Hz. The smartphone might be powered by Google’s customized Tensor chipset, which is presently used in the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6 XL.
