WhatsApp will make it more difficult for users to forward messages to more than one group conversation in the near future
WhatsApp has been sighted testing a new feature that will alter how we forward messages. Whatsapp will soon make it impossible to forward messages to more than one group. This action would help to limit the spread of bogus news or disinformation.
Previously, WhatsApp released an upgrade that enabled users to transmit messages to only one chat at a time. To reduce virality, WhatsApp imposed limitations on forwarded messages. This change was announced after WhatsApp began identifying messages sent several times with double arrows. Now, the messaging app is most likely considering expanding the functionality to group chats. As per Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is now testing the ability to forward messages to only one group chat at a time.
As a result, if you try to transmit a message with a forwarded label, you will no longer be able to forward it to more than one group chat at a time. If you want to forward a message to more than one group chat, you must pick the message and forward it again. Previously, WhatsApp imposed a barrier that only allowed these messages to be forwarded to one chat at a time.
The functionality is now being tested, and it is being handed out to select beta testers. It will be available to everyone in the next few days.
