In 24 hours, India has recorded 2,876 new COVID-19 cases, with 98 deaths

According to data released today by the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 2,876 new coronavirus infections, bringing the overall number of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,98,938, while active cases fell to 32,811.

The death toll increased to 5,16,072 with 98 new fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

The active cases account for 0.08 percent of all infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.72 percent, according to the ministry.

In a 24-hour period, the active COVID-19 caseload was reduced by 1,106 cases, according to the report.

As per ministry, the number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,24,50,055, with a case fatality rate of 1.20 percent.

The total number of vaccine doses delivered in the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 immunisation programme has surpassed 180.60 crore, according to the report.

The daily positivity rate was 0.38 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.44 percent, according to the ministry.

There have been 78.05 crore total tests completed thus far, with 7,52,818 tests conducted in the previous 24 hours, according to the report.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.

It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

Last year, the country passed the two crore mark on May 4 and the three crore mark on June 23.
