ECO-FRIENDLY VEHICLE in India: Nitin Gadkari launches THIS vehicle which runs on hydrogen, Read Here

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday launched the green hydrogen-based advanced fuel cell electric vehicle Toyota Mirai, it is stated that it is the first of its kind project in India that aims to create an ecosystem for such vehicles in the country.

Speaking at the launch, Gadkari said that FCEV will be powered by hydrogen which is known for its zero-emission solutions.

It is entirely environmentally friendly with no tailpipe emissions other than water, he said. The road transport and highways minister added that green hydrogen can be easily generated from renewable energy and it is available in the biomass abundantly.

He said that tapping into this sort of technology will play a key role in securing a clean and affordable energy future for India.

Toyota Motor along with ICAT (International Center for Automotive Technology) is experimenting in a pilot project to study and evaluate the world’s most advanced FCEV Toyota Mirai that runs on hydrogen and is habitable in Indian roads and climate conditions.

Union minister for petroleum and natural gas Hardeep Singh Puri, union power minister R K Singh and heavy industries minister Mahendra Nath Pandey were also present at the event.
