In 24 hours, India records 2,528 new COVID-19 cases, including 149 deaths

With 2,528 new COVID-19 cases recorded in a single day, India’s infection total currently stands at 4,30,04,005, while the number of active cases dipped below 30,000 after 685 days, according to the Union Health Ministry today.

The number of deaths from the disease has risen to 5,16,281, with 149 people dying every day, according to figures provided by the ministry at 8 a.m.

The number of active cases has decreased to 29,181, accounting for 0.07 per cent of overall infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.73 per cent, according to the Health Ministry.

According to the statistics, the country’s active COVID-19 caseload was reduced by 1,618 cases in a 24-hour period.

As per the government, there has also been a consistent drop in weekly and daily positive rates.

Both were measured at 0.40 per cent, according to the report.

In the previous 24 hours, a total of 6,33,867 COVID-19 tests were performed. Over 78.18 crore tests for the illness have been undertaken in India thus far.

According to the statistics, the number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,24,58,543, with a case fatality rate of 1.20 per cent.

So far, the total number of doses provided in the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 immunisation effort has surpassed 180.97 crores.
