Maharashtra Issues Guidelines for Holi Celebration, urges people to avoid large gatherings, Check here
The Maharashtra government on Thursday issued guidelines for Holi 2022 and urged people to celebrate the festival of colours on a small scale rather than going big as the COVID 19 virus is still prevalent.
In the new guidelines, the state government said that Dhulvandhan and Rangpanchami must be celebrated low-key to ensure that COVID 19 infection doesn’t spread. They also mentioned not taking out ‘palkhi’ processions to households during the festival.
They further stated that the local administration must instead arrange for darshan at the local temples and ensure that COVID appropriate behaviour.
On the bright side, Maharashtra is seeing a constant dip in COVID 19 cases. On Wednesday, the state saw 237 fresh cases. Holi/Shimga is observed on 18th March i.e. today. The state government have warned people to not let the dip in cases keep them at ease and as the virus is still out there, they must follow COVID 19 protocols.
