As per data from the Union Health Ministry, India registered 1,761 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, the lowest in roughly 688 days, bringing the total to 4,30,07,841, while active cases fell further to 26,240.
According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 5,16,479, with 127 daily deaths.
Active cases account for 0.06 per cent of all illnesses. It revealed that the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has been reduced by 1,562 cases.
According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.41 per cent, and the weekly positivity rate was 0.41 per cent.
In the previous 24 hours, a total of 4,31,973 COVID-19 tests were performed. According to the report, India has done over 78.26 crore tests.
The total number of patients who have recovered from the sickness has increased to 4,24,65,122. The case mortality rate was 1.20 per cent, according to the report.
The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses provided in the country as part of the nationwide immunisation push has surpassed 181.21 crores.
On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.
On May 4, 2021, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, 2021, it passed the three-crore mark.
