Bank Trade Unions call for a Nationwide Strike on March 28-29, Bank Services to be hit, Know more here
To protest against the policies of the Central government, a joint forum of central trade unions on Wednesday announced a nationwide strike on March 28-29. This development came after the trade unions held a meeting in Delhi on March 22, 2022, to discuss the proposed protest on 28-29 March 2022.
In the meantime, the State Bank of India (SBI) in a statement said that the banking services may get impacted as various employee unions have called for the strike on March 28-29. The protest is against the government’s decision to privatise public sector banks and the Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021.
“We advise that while the bank has made necessary arrangements to ensure normal functioning in its branches and offices on the days of strike, work in our bank may likely be impacted to a limited extent, by the strike,” SBI said in a regulatory filing.
The trade unions took note of the increased prices of everything after the election. They discussed how the Centre is attacking the middle-class people by reducing the interest rate on EPF, sudden hike in petrol, LPG, kerosene, CNG in the name of implementing their program of monetization but the real reason is the worsening situation of inflation and crashing share markets.
If you have any bank activities planned on these 2 days, make sure your bank is open that day.
