The last unreleased song by late singer S P Balasubrahmanyam will be auctioned off as an NFT

Music admirers, digital art collectors, and followers of the late S P Balasubrahmanyam, the great playback singer, will now be able to purchase his final unreleased song. Diginoor, a non-fungible token (NFT) platform, will auction off a 30-minute recording by the late artist on April 9.

Diginoor owns the legal rights to sell and distribute the music as an NFT. The vocalist collaborated with the music company Symphony Records to record the album Vishwaroopa Darisanam. The unreleased Tamil track was the late singer’s final devotional track, which he recorded only weeks before his death in September 2020 as a result of COVID-19 problems.

Pre-bid proposals on the site have already surpassed $2,00,000 (roughly Rs 1.5 crores).

Diginoor intends to transfer 51 per cent of the copyright to the winning bidder with the introduction of the NFT. This grants the NFT holder the right to make the music available to a larger public, as well as the ability to change or duplicate it.

The start-up noted in a tweet on its Twitter handle, Did you know that our launch of the Music NFT of Late Legendary Singer, SPB is the first of its kind since the holder not only receives access to the complete 30-minute track but also obtains 51% of the copyrights to this masterpiece through the NFT?

Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan were all bestowed to S P Balasubrahmanyam. He’d also won six national prizes. Over the course of his career, he has recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 languages.
