In 24 hours, India had 795 new COVID-19 cases and 58 deaths, according to the Centre

With 795 new coronavirus infections recorded in a single day, India’s overall number of COVID-19 cases increased to 4,30,29,839, while active cases decreased to 12,054, according to figures provided today by the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll increased to 5,21,416 with 58 new fatalities, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.03 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 percent.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has been reduced by 543 cases.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was 0.17 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.22 percent.

The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,24,96,369, with a case fatality rate of 1.21 percent.

The total number of doses provided in the country as part of the statewide COVID-19 immunisation effort has surpassed 184.87 crores.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It reached 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.

On May 4, the country passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.
