IMD has released their weather forecast of the scorching heatwave that is passing by the country and will be staying with us for a very long time now. In the past 24 hours, IMD observed that in many parts of north Gujarat state, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra & Marathwada; in some parts of West Rajasthan, the maximum temperature stayed between 40° – 43°C.
Severe heatwave conditions were observed in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha and Madhya Maharashtra.
According to the IMD report, the heatwave spells are going to continue for 5 days as usual. No significant change is forecasted in the maximum temperatures of Maharashtra and Madhya Maharashtra.
Widespread rainfall can be observed in north-eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya in the next 5 days.
The intense heat doesn’t seem to be leaving our way anytime soon. Make sure you stay hydrated with fruit juices and barrels of water. Try not to get out in the morning to survive this heatwave.
