WhatsApp’s desktop and iOS apps are receiving additional functionality, according to new beta versions
A glance at WhatsApp’s most recent beta versions has shown a few new features. According to a recent source, WhatsApp may soon upgrade its WhatsApp Desktop software with a new feature, as well as provide new capabilities to its app for iPhone users.
The first of these features is coming to WhatsApp Desktop, the standalone WhatsApp app designed for use on Windows and Macs, as opposed to WhatsApp Web, which is accessed via a web browser.
For those who are unaware, WhatsApp can produce previews for URLs put into its chat windows. So, if a user copies a link from the web and sends it to another, the chat may produce a preview of the link with a small thumbnail. The function is available on WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp for iOS, and it was formerly available on WhatsApp Desktop before being deleted.
Concurrently, a new feature has been observed on WhatsApp for iOS beta. WhatsApp users with iPhones can now use group polls. Users will be able to add a new poll to a group with up to 12 different poll options.
The functionality was first observed in WhatsApp for iOS 22.8.0.72 beta, and it now allows users to adjust the order of the selections. The feature is currently being worked on, and we can expect to see it in a stable release shortly.
