There are 1,054 new Covid cases in India, with 29 deaths: Centre

With 1,054 new cases, India’s COVID-19 total has risen to 4,30,35,271, while the death toll from the viral disease has risen to 5,21,685 with 29 new fatalities, according to the Union health ministry on Sunday.

However, the number of active cases of the virus has dropped to 11,132, according to statistics from the Ministry, which were updated at 8 a.m.


The active cases make up 0.03 per cent of the entire caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 per cent, according to the ministry.

In a 24-hour period, the active caseload was reduced by 233 cases, according to the report.


According to the data, the daily positivity rate was 0.25 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.23 per cent.

The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,25,02,454, with a case fatality rate of 1.21 per cent.


In the country, the total number of Covid vaccine doses delivered has surpassed 185.7 crores.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 2020, 40 lakh on September 5, 2020, and 50 lakh on September 16, 2020.


It surpassed the 60 lakh level on September 28, 2020, the 70 lakh mark on October 11, 2020, the 80 lakh mark on October 29, 2020, the 90 lakh mark on November 20, 2020, and the one-crore mark on December 19, 2020.

On May 4, 2021, the country passed the two-crore Covid case barrier, and on June 23, 2021, it passed the three-crore level.
