After food delivery app Zomato announced their 10 – minute food delivery pilot project in Gurugram, Ola is reportedly going to launch a pilot project with a similar aim in Bengaluru.
According to the latest report by ET, the company is working on their grocery delivery sub-franchise ‘Ola Dash’. It is also speculated that Swiggy will soon start experimenting with the 10-minute food delivery plan to beat the competition.
The 10-minute food delivery bought to you by Ola will include Khichdi, rolls and pizzas on their menu. The ET report also stated that they are described as ‘freshly prepared’ by the app. For Swiggy, it is still unclear by when they will launch this project and if it will be 10 minutes or more. However, they are aiming to cut down the delivery time.
All these companies are working with the same food robotics startup and that is Mukunda Foods, according to ET. Zomato owns 16.6% of the company for $5 million which is going to play a key role in the mission of Zomato’s 10-minute delivery that will be known as ‘Zomato Instant’. The report also stated that Mukunda has not signed an exclusivity contract with Zomato. It claims to manufacture machines that reduce the cooking time by 20-50%.
Ola has begun with its 10-minute food delivery services pilot program in different parts of Bengaluru. Zomato will soon start its pilot program; it has already taken one food station in Gurugram.
